in the Pachinko kdrama interview, Min-ho makes his first OTT entry with AppleTV+.
Lee Min-ho, an actor with 13 years of experience who can’t count the lead roles, and Min-ha Kim, a 6-year-old actor making her first lead role, were no exceptions. They are two people who have grown one step further through ‘Pachinko’. Recently, Apple TV+ ‘Pachinko’, actors Yoon Yeo-jeong and Jin-ha’s common interview was conducted online. Based on the New York Times best-selling book of the same name, ‘Pachinko’ is a story that begins with forbidden love, depicting an unforgettable chronicle of war and peace, love and parting, victory and judgment.
Lee Min-ho, who makes his first OTT entry through ‘Pachinko’, plays ‘Han-Su’, an attractive character who will shake the life of ‘sun-Ja’ in his youth. The undeniable fatal charm of ‘Hansu’, as well as the complex inner side of the conflict between ambition and love, was beautifully drawn, trying to make a different transformation that I had never seen in any other works.
Lee Min-ho said, “I wanted to express the change in which a person who used to be ‘good’ lives in the form of ‘evil’ in the process of survival. Anyway, I thought that I was a tough person to live in a desperate era, and someone who could kill anyone.” I had a desire to do this work and this character. I think I was drawn to it because it was a work that had a lot of power in the story.” He said, “My heart aches because I sympathize with the way of surviving and living as ‘Hansu’. It seems that a lot of love has gone.”
He continued, “In the past, I’ve played a lot of refined or fantasy characters, but in this work, I thought a lot about wanting to break down my existing self and return to the wild to express the primal human emotions. “He said.
“Initially, there was a part where I acted with pressure on the box office or viewer ratings, but recently I have been thinking a lot about how to be free in that part He added. One of the biggest reasons was the thought that I could be free from such burdens and be able to express my true feelings.”

Lee Min-ho, who is currently the representative Hallyu star in Korea, could not avoid the audition. He said, “There were a lot of intersections with the emotions I felt when I auditioned for ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ 13 years ago. I had a strong desire to do it,” he said. “I think it was a work that I was able to get into intensely, and I think it will be of great help in my future acting life because it was a work that I worked on in a state of being free.”
Meanwhile, Rookie actress Kim Min-ha is drawing attention after making her first lead role through ‘Pachinko’. If Yeo-jeong Yoon plays the ‘Sun-Ja’ in her old age in ‘Pachinko’, Kim Min-ha decomposes into the ‘Sun-Ja’ of her youth and leads the center of her play. A young ‘Sun-Ja’ who lives in Yeongdo, Busan is a person who opens his eyes to a new world through an unexpected meeting with ‘Han-soo’.

Kim Min-ha is attracting attention as it is known that she was selected for the role of ‘Sunja’ through fierce competition in the audition. She revealed that she had auditioned for three to four months, and said, “There is a part where I became dull after doing this for too long. People around me asked me, ‘Why aren’t you happy?’ In fact, I was really happy.”
Kim Min-ha said, “There were a lot of fresh shocks to the audition method I had never tried before, and there was also time to look back on myself. In the beginning, I was worried about ‘what if I don’t live up to expectations, but I just tried to believe in me, trust the people who chose me, and trust the actors I work with,” she said.
“Rather than interpreting the character and acting, I naturally read the original story and the script and tried to blend in with the character.” she added, “The young ‘Sunja’ is like a girl and weak, but she is stronger than anyone else and knows how to protect herself and her family. I thought it was a character,” she added.

Actress Kim Min-ha poses at the global premiere held at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, the USA on the 16th (local time). ‘Pachinko’, a story that begins with forbidden love, draws an unforgettable chronicle of war and peace, love and parting, victory and judgment, going back and forth between Korea, Japan, and the United States.
Regarding Kim Min-ha, Lee Min-ho said, “I met Kim Min-ha for the first time at a chemistry audition. At that time, I felt a lot of ‘sunja’ when I saw her for the first time. He said. Regarding the short and intense romance between the two, he explained, “I thought that in this work, it was an exchange of emotions that was more than a melodrama, so I went beyond love between the opposite sex and met a desperate human and a human in that era, and came into strong sympathy and clash.”
Kim Min-ha, who is foretelling a strong impact as her first lead role, must have a special meaning for the work called ‘Pachinko’. “She learned a lot about listening to someone,” she said. “She learned how to listen with her heart, not just her ears.”
In particular, Kim Min-ha, who is very proud of the ‘story’ conveyed by the work, said, “It happened in Korea, and a lot of things happen in historical events, but I focused on a more human figure and represents a strong woman and mother in it. I have a strong sense of responsibility and pride because I was able to do it,” she said.
Lee Min-ho also said, “It was an honor and good to participate as an actor in a work that shares and sympathizes with Korea’s dark but must-know stories. Rather than focusing on Korean history, I want you to look back on yourself and think about what you can do for the next generation together,” he said.
