BTS made history at this year’s Billboard Music Awards after taking home three awards.
On May 15 local time, the Billboard Music Awards 2022 announced this year’s award winners. Previously, BTS announced that they would not attend this year’s awards ceremony, but the group also pocketed remarkable awards and achievements at this year’s awards ceremony.

At this year’s ceremony, out of the 6 previously announced nominations, BTS won in 3 categories. In which, BTS won Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song (Butter), marking the second year in a row that they won all three awards.

2022 also marks the third overall Top Duo/Group win at the Billboard Music Awards (BTS won this award for the first time in 2019). This means that the group has won the record held by One Direction for most wins in the same category. It also marks the group’s sixth consecutive year of winning at the BBMAs since 2017.

In addition, since starting to win trophies at every Billboard Music Awards ceremony since 2017, BTS has now surpassed Destiny’s Child to become the group that has won the most Billboard Music Awards in history. The group currently boasts 12 wins at this awards ceremony.
BTS broke Destiny’s Child’s previous record of 11 wins, which has remained undefeated for the past 17 years.

Needless to say, the fans were extremely proud of this achievement of the idol and even more motivated for them to strongly support BTS in the upcoming comeback. The Proof album, slated for release on June 10, will be an anthology album “showing the history of BTS”. Currently, BTS is in the process of actively preparing for this impressive comeback.

Congratulations on BTS’s new achievement!
