Asian directors and actors, including Jung Hae-in and Go Kyung-Pyo, will gather at the ‘Disney Contents Showcase’ held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific (APAC) announced on the 29th that it will hold a blue carpet event at Marina Bay Sands on the afternoon of the 30th (local time).
On this day, director Kang Yoon-Seong, who wrote and directed the screenplay for the online video service (OTT) Disney Plus series ‘Casino’, and actors Lee Dong-hwi and Heo Seong-tae, who played the lead roles, will attend the event. ‘Casino’ is a drama in which actor Choi Min-Shik appears for the first time in 25 years. This is the story of a protagonist who became a casino legend in the Philippines, risking his life to return to the game after losing everything in a murder case.

Director Takashi Miike, the master of genre films who directed another highly anticipated film, ‘Connect’, along with Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-Pyo, and Kim Hye-Joon, are also expected to shine on the blue carpet. The story begins when a man with an immortal body is kidnapped by an organ trafficking organization and loses one of his eyes, only to find out that his eye was implanted by a serial killer.

In Japan, the lead actors of the thriller ‘Gannibal’ Yuya Yagira and Riho Yoshioka are visiting Singapore. Director Katayama Shinzo will also meet fans. Indonesian actors such as Deva Mahendra of the horror series ‘Blood Curse’, Chelsea Islan of ‘Superhero Series’, and Legal Hardy of ‘Marriage Contract: The Series, which were released at this year’s Pusan International Film Festival, will also step on the blue carpet.
In addition, Pixar’s director and animator Peter Son, who directed ‘The Good Dinosaur, will attend and introduce the new original animation ‘Elemental’.
Through the showcase, Disney plans to showcase theatrical release movies and streaming content scheduled to be released next year, including original content from Disney Plus and Disney Plus hot stars in the Asia-Pacific region.
Disney recently launched the Creative Experience, an invitational exchange program that connects executives and creators from major Disney brands and studios with storytellers in the Asia Pacific region. The purpose is to share the world’s best storytelling accumulated over 100 years with creators in the Asia Pacific region.
Participants will learn about the working processes of Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney Live Action, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Pixar, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, DisneyTV Studios, FX, ABC and more. Last month, a conversation about film production was held with director Ryan Coogler of the movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
