tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls Part 2 ” has ended on a high note! On January 8, the series finale of “Alchemy of Souls Part 2” achieved the highest viewership ratings of the drama’s entire run, including last year’s Part 1.

According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of “Alchemy of Souls Part 2” scored an average nationwide rating of 9.7 percent, marking a new personal record for the hit show.

“Alchemy of Souls Part 2” also remained first place in its time slot across all cable channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned a nationwide average of 4.1 percent for its series finale.

However, “Alchemy of Souls” wasn’t the only drama to soar to a new all-time high in viewership last night: both JTBC’s new drama “Agency” and KBS 2TV’s “Three Bold Siblings” also reached their highest ratings to date. “Agency” rose to an average nationwide rating of 5.1 percent for its second episode, marking a modest increase from its premiere the night before.

Meanwhile, “Three Bold Siblings” climbed to a new personal best of 23.5 percent, successfully remaining the most-watched program to air on any channel on Sunday.

Finally, TV Chosun’s “Red Balloon” jumped to an average nationwide rating of 6.9 percent for its latest episode.
