Song Joong-ki ‘Reborn Rich’ To compete with This New drama “Competition with ‘the youngest son of a conglomerate ‘? The important thing is an unbreakable heart.”

On the 8th, a press conference for the production of MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Forbidden Marriage‘ was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Park Sang-woo and actors Park Joo-Hyun, Kim Young-Dae, and Kim Woo-Seok attended the event.
‘The Forbidden Marriage‘ is a sensational palace swindle in which So-rang (Park Joo-Hyeon), a wedding swindler who claims to be able to possess the dead princess, appears in front of King Lee Heon (Kim Young-Dae), who lost the princess seven years ago and issued an order to keep her from marriage. It is based on a web novel of the same name.
Park Joo-Hyun plays the role of So-rang, the owner of the teahouse Aedaldang and a swindler who connects people’s ties in the golden age of marriage. Kim Yeong-Dae plays the role of King Lee Heon, the representative lover of Joseon who can do anything for the woman he loves. Kim Woo-Seok plays Lee Shin-won, a master of the Uigeumbu who has a warm appearance and excellent martial arts skills.
On this day, director Park Sang-woo said, “The original author of the web novel wrote the drama as it is. It started with what would happen if a golden marriage order was issued in Joseon for 7 years. It is a story of three people meeting and growing up.”

Park Joo-Hyun, Kim Young-Dae, and Kim Woo-Seok are all taking on a historical drama for the first time. Park Joo-Hyun said, “I’ve heard too many stories that historical drama itself is a genre that comes with great difficulties. (Honestly) I started it in fear. As expected, it was as hard on my body as I thought. Most of the filming was done outdoors, so there were restrictions in hot and cold weather. But the atmosphere at the filming site was bright like a drama. It was difficult, but we had fun together and got through it well.”
Next, Kim Young-Dae said, “I was worried a lot because it was my first time in the historical drama genre. ‘Golden Spirits’ is a work with a lot of fusion elements, so I didn’t feel a sense of distance. I had a good experience.” said.
Kim Woo-Seok said, “The cold and heat (since it’s a historical drama) came more clearly than any modern drama. I remember having a hard time together because I wanted to avoid the sunlight but there was no place to hide. It was fun,” recalling the filming site.

‘The Forbidden Marriage‘ faces JTBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Youngest Son Of Conglomerate‘, SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘The First Responders‘, and tvN Saturday drama ‘Ghosts 2’. In particular, ‘The youngest son of a conglomerate ‘ recorded the highest viewership rating of 19.4% and is about to break through the 20% mark.
Park Joo-Hyun said, “You can laugh a lot in our dramas. Because they are different stories and genres, I think each has a different charm. It was a fun work from the start, so I think viewers will definitely enjoy it.” this showed confidence.
Director Park Sang-woo also said, “I know well that you are worried inside and outside because of the programming. It’s a competition, but I think it’s a good direction to grow the entire pie of the drama. Wouldn’t it be nice if everything goes well? Also, online, they said, ‘The important thing is not to break the heart.’ I will compete well with the mindset of an underdog.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Forbidden Marriage’ which has about 12-episode will start broadcast at 9:50 pm on the 9th of December.
